FukushimaResponse is still very active on facebook - and for 2013, WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US at our new project website:
The nuclear reactors crippled by the tsunami in Japan continue to pose a risk to people and the environment around the world, including the United States. Another significant earthquake, for example, could cause the spent fuel rods in Unit 4 to become exposed, igniting a catastrophic global fire. Seismologists say such an earthquake occurring in the near future is a certainty. The radioactive fire that would start if Unit 4 collapses, however, is one we don't know how to put out.
We need to act now - to inform and mobilize our communities to demand that local, regional and national leadership move quickly to initiate and direct an international effort to stabilize Fukushima, starting with Unit 4.
Together we gain traction and make our voices heard.
Kindness to all beings,
The Fukushima Response Team
